The RDC (Remote Data Concentrator) is a miniature line replaceable unit designed for data acquisition close to signal sources. The RDC can be used in conjunction with a Modular Acquisition Unit (MAU) or as a standalone device. The RDC configuration is flexible, such that it can be considered for any application that is able to interface with a high speed ARINC 429 bus.
Powered by 28VDC, the RDC low power consumption is ideally suitable for a wide variety of installations. The ability to install the RDC close to the signal source simplifies the installation, improved signal accuracy and reduces overall weight of the system. This is further enhanced by two auxiliary outputs, 28VDC and regulated 10VDC, suitable for powering sensors.
The hermetically sealed compact design, measuring at 1.6" X 1.9" X 3.0" and weighting less then 0.55 Lbs, make the RDC the perfect data acquisition device for most locations on the aircraft.
Additional features included field loaded signal interface configurations. This allows a RDC to be re-programmed to match specific signals at different locations on the aircraft.
