Australian Defence Force Purchase FDAIU
Release Date: 20/1/2013
The Australian Defence Force had a requirement to replace older analog flight recorders on one of its aircraft types - the PC-9 with new up to date digital flight recorders. FDS proposed the FDAIU - a direct analog replacement that has the same features of the original system but as a direct replacement without the need to rewire the aircraft.
The FDAIU fits in the existing rack of the older analog ARINC 542 flight recorder configuration and the new digital ARINC 717 flight recorder slides in on top with a direct connection to the acquisition system.
The ADF have been delivered the first of 60 new FDAIU's with the roll out to be completed by April 2013.
